GREETINGS
Hi, I’m Kat! I’m a yoga teacher and acrobat from the USA, currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Sport Science at the University of Tsukuba.
Yoga has been an important part of my life for years, especially during my university days, when it helped me calm my mind and bring movement into my body after long study sessions. Now, it has become a way of life that continues to teach me how to slow down and stay grounded in all situations.
I started teaching yoga at UC Berkeley, where I led free weekly classes for BIPOC students and discovered the joy of building community through movement. I later completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training at Bali Yoga Ashram, with a foundation in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha, pranayama, and meditation. I strive to incorporate the different aspects of yoga into my classes, going beyond the physical practice to include breath and a deeper connection between body and mind.
My teaching is influenced by my background in gymnastics, acrobatics, and aerial arts. I enjoy exploring creative sequencing and inversions that challenge strength, flexibility, and balance while encouraging students to listen to their bodies and explore their own practice. My goal is to make my classes feel both accessible and inspiring, so that students leave feeling stronger and more connected to themselves.
I see yoga as a practice of curiosity, patience, and self-awareness. I hope to create a space for students to connect with themselves and carry that sense of awareness beyond the mat.
I look forward to practicing with you at YODA!
