Kids Yoga

Instructor:

Through playful and interactive activities, children will learn basic yoga poses, breathing techniques, and mindfulness exercises. We will occasionally engage in STEM learning and crafts.

LESSON FLOW

  • Warm-up: We start by getting children moving and energized with a fun warm-up activity

  • Yoga poses: Basic yoga poses are introduced through storytelling, games and other interactive activities

  • Breathing exercises: We teach children how to regulate their breathing and encourage them to practice deep breathing that promotes relaxation and stress reduction

  • Mindfulness activities and sharing: These activities help children develop focus, awareness of their own thoughts and feelings, and empathy for others.

  • Relaxation: We end each class with a relaxation activity that teaches children the skill to unwind and let go of any stress or tension.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Comfortable clothes that do not restrain movement

  • Water


We recommend layering, especially in cooler seasons.

Yoga gear, materials for games and crafts will be provided.


Please refrain from bringing toys unless requested by the instructor. Please also refrain from wearing jewelry.
