A while ago, Miyu-san contacted me for studio rental. She needed the studio to conduct a 1-hour yoga lesson to graduate from her yoga instructor RYT200 program. We fixed the date for October 15. It was the first time another yoga teacher would be giving a lesson at YODA, and I was very excited!
That day, there was an Ibaraki aikido demonstration in Iwama in the morning, and we went there to support our friends. Driving back to the studio, I realised I left the studio's keys in another bag. I had to pass by home and was quite desperate to get to the studio in time. But then, like by magic, every traffic light on my way was green, and I even had some free time to lay out the mats and change myself.
Miyu-san arrived a few minutes afterwards. We chatted a bit, and then her friends started coming. We all sat on our mats and started practice. Similarly to Zhenya's classes, we began with gentle seated warm-ups and stretches. Then, we went on all fours for some cat-cows, then transitioned into sun salutations. Gradually, we made it to standing postures and then lay down for the final relaxation. All the instructions were given in a clear and easy-to-understand way. I enjoyed this classic soft flow.
What impressed me a lot was the sounds of crystal bowls during Savasana. It was new to me, and I enjoyed the resonance the bowls created in my body and mind. Then, when it was time to wake up, Miyu-san rang something resembling an orchestral triangle. The bright and shimmery metallic sound helped to wake up the mind quickly.
The one-hour class went by so quickly! We felt all refreshed and filled with energy.
And, of course, many thanks for the cameraman who took some excellent pictures!
