Hey there and Happy New Year! How is 2024 going so far? I hope you are having a wonderful start of the year! Well, I know, we all have different circumstances, and there is no particular reason for the beginning of the year to be any better than the rest of it, but still. I hope that you are doing well right now. And if not, come to our yoga classes 😁
As the new year comes in, we all have the tendency to look back and contemplate on the passed year. Was it a good year? Did we work hard enough? Did we rest enough?
For us, YODA team, it was an utterly hectic year. I suppose, this is a natural thing: the first year always means a lot of growth, which comes with challenges and excitement, ups and downs. Happily, there were more ups than downs, and I feel that the studio is somewhat stabilised by now. I call it success 😁
As a trained data scientist, I don't call a year-end report complete without some stats, and I want to share some with you.
We started with 2 teachers, 5 yoga classes, 3 dance classes and 3 kids classes. We closed the year with 4 teachers (pure magic and stars aligned!), 5 yoga classes, 6 dance classes, 2 general health classes, and 5 kids classes. There will be one more yoga class very soon, but of course I won't tell you, will I? But it will be focused on ladies in a very special state 😉
Believe it or not, whenever we have a new client we giggle like little girls. We are eager to know where he or she comes from, how did he or she learn about us. It is absolutely exciting to meet people who are interested in what you're doing! (It looks like a perfect moment to remind you of our Bring-a-Friend discount: if you want even more excitement and girly giggle, share YODA with a friend and get a 10%-discount for the next plan).
In May, our studio was visited by 24 people. Many of them being our friends back then, and I am happy to write that many of them became our friends by now. Half a year later, in November, we count 36 yodis, and have over 40 scheduled lessons every week!
Even though our studio is still a baby compared to many studios out there, it is gradually getting recognized in Tsukuba and its surroundings. In our first year, we joyfully participated in two festivals - the Obon Dance Festival and Tsukuba Peaceful Festival - alongside other dedicated teachers and studios with years of experience.
We organized workshops on different topics, and some of them were a great success! (And this is another perfect occasion to announce that we will be hosting a few yoga workshops in the next three months. The closest one - "Foward Folds Secrets" is in less than two weeks!)
Yet, it is not only the numbers in the stats and various activities we engaged in that bring us joy. Nothing of this would matter much without the warmth and support from all of you, our friends. We sense it in every kind word within your emails to us. We can feel it when our participants linger for a chat after a class. We experience it during our cozy and warm Movie Nights. Your positivity, every moment of connection and every shared smile are the secret sauce that makes our studio feel like home.
This year we are excited for more shared laughs, more yoga and dance adventures, and, of course, more cozy events. On behalf of our YODA team, I wish you a New Year full of love, prosperity, a few perfectly balanced yoga poses and impressive dance choreos – and we'll be beyond happy to help you with these 😉
Looking forward to seeing you at the studio more often! And bring your friends along! After all, we've made an amazing community, and the more, the merrier!
With warm wishes and YoDa vibes,
Your Katya, Zhenya (Yo), Zhenya (Da), Shivani and Koharu ♥️
It is great to see in stats how the studio is growing! Thanks for the classes and making Tsukuba a better place :)
